About Soyacoco Wax

Soyacoco wax is made from environmentally friendly, renewable resources; whereas classic paraffin wax is made from petroleum and is non-renewable. Not only are there “green” advantages to choosing soyacoco wax over a different type of candle wax, but soyacoco wax also burns slower than paraffin wax, meaning you get a candle that lasts longer. While all candles emit some black soot while burning, candles made from soyacoco wax burns cleaner and results in less soot. Paraffin wax has also been shown to sometimes emit small amount of benzene, which is carcinogenic. Soyacoco wax is safe for you and sustainable for the planet. 

Things to know about your soy wax candle

Some things that can come along with soyacoco wax, which is completely natural is a phenomenon known as frosting.

If you find your candle has frosting, don't worry this is completely normal, especially in winter. Frosting is actually a unique and natural effect of using vegetable waxes, especially soy and coconut. The wax is trying to return back to its natural form and as a result it begins to crystallise. It doesn't affect the performance of the candle in any way and also means your wax is 100% natural.

We do everything we can do try and prevent frosting, however even if our candles leave completely spotless, frosting can develop in transit, particularly from the lower outside temperatures. This is why they can be found on even the most high-end, expensive candles. This is something that will go away as your candle burns.

You may also see some small cracks on the top of your candle, this is also normal and goes away when using the candle. 

The way I see it is all human bodies have bumps, scars, cellulite, stretch-marks or any other imperfections and it’s the same for our body candles! Which, to me makes gives them raw and real beauty. Embrace every body, scars, and just like us, all our candles are all uniquely beautiful and perfectly imperfect in their own way. Each lovingly hand-made and created to inspire humans to love themseves unapologetically.

One amazing quality of soyacoco wax that some prefer, and some don't, is the amount of fragrance oil that it holds. While some of the paraffin candles can smell extremely strong when burning, soyacoco wax is natural it cannot hold the same amount of fragrance oil as paraffin. This results in a gentler scent. All of our candles have an incredible cold throw (the smell strong when it isn't burned), and a strong hot throw (the scent when it is burning), depending on what scent is used in the candle.

Our candles are intended to be used for décor only, should you wish to burn your candle, make sure that the candle is placed on a non-flammable dish to avoid the wax spilling onto your furniture, keep them out of direct sunlight to avoid UV damage.
